However, it has become clear in recent years that news shared online comes with serious risks due to its lack of objectivity and its emphasis on speed and volume over fact. Given the absence of context and an abundance of competing voices online, how do we know who and what to trust? Can we see past the click-bait headlines and advertorials, and continue to be informed about the world around us? Is there still a place for objective journalism?

There’s been much debate among psychologists, economists and social scientists over the relationship between money and happiness – specifically, whether or not money can buy happiness. While some researchers would argue that it cannot, the recent Powerball lottery frenzy in the US strongly suggests that many of us believe that it can. Is money the key to happiness? Or do time and life satisfaction mean more? Is it the ability to buy material goods and experiences that people desire, or the notion that money can provide a sense of security and the potential to lead a fulfilled life?
